Kim is originally from Arizona and arrived to Denver via a corporate relocation. Before arriving in Denver, Kim believed she could not survive a Colorado winter; ten years later she happily makes her home in Highlands Ranch. Prior to living in the suburbs, Kim Hutchins lived in downtown Denver and near Sloans Lake, in the Highlands neighborhood. Kim Hutchins and her husband also enjoy home ownership in Summit County where they take advantage of the beauty Colorado has to offer and where they embrace the winter ski season.

Kim's undergraduate studies took place at the University of Southern California and included a semester abroad (She spent a Semester at Sea). Kim's graduate education took place here at the University of Denvers Daniels College of Business.
